The biggest contribution for the
programs set up are the local populations themselves. Globally, they account
for more than half!
It is a general principle for us: if
we don’t get a strong local contribution, it is because the program doesn't
answer a priority for the populations.
It is then necessary to find something else.
When the populations cover a big part with the expenses, evidently the programs
are less expensive a lot! Each looks after the fact that every coin is used to
the best!
The villagers are proud of the results, which is so important: "We did it!". The
maintenance is thus guaranteed. For example: the bridges in the delta of the Mekong
are financedat 75% by the villagers.
When a household cannot pay its part, the neighbors help.
